2025

Thank you for making our inaugural summit a success!

THANK YOU

BLACK.INDIE.IGNITE. 2025: THE FIRST GATHERING

THANKS FOR IGNITING WITH US!

Black.Indie.Ignite. 2025 brought nearly 100 Black independent filmmakers, storytellers and creatives together in Los Angeles for a two-day experience designed with intention from start to finish.

We opened Friday evening with Sunset Movies & Mimosas—an outdoor screening followed by a filmmaker fireside chat and time to connect. It set the tone early: film, conversation and community.

Saturday started differently than most industry gatherings. The day began with a morning flow—movement, mindfulness and intention-setting—before moving into programming. From there, the day unfolded in a deliberate rhythm:

Fireside conversations → Ignition labs → Reset → Repeat

Conversations carried into application. Storytelling discussions moved into working sessions. Topics like branding, financing and distribution didn’t just stay theoretical—they were unpacked and worked through in real time.

The Pitch & Partner Lab created space for creators to share ideas, find collaborators and think through next steps together. Wellness was integrated throughout the day, offering moments to pause, reset and stay grounded in the process.

The experience closed with intention and continued into an evening reception where conversations carried on.

Across both days, people connected, shared openly and began forming relationships that will continue beyond the event. Attendees described the experience as informative, educational, collaborative—and a vibe, with intention.

We’re grateful to everyone who showed up—attendees, speakers and facilitators—for bringing their full selves into the space and helping shape what this experience became.

Black.Indie.Ignite. 2025 was the first.
